Ireland, Spring 2007, Hook Head, Co Wexford. The oldest lighthouse in Europe. The tower of the lighthouse was built in 13th century over the estuary of the 3 rivers (Suir, Barrow and Nore, according to Wikipedia) and on the rocky shore of Celtic Sea. I would like to come back for a whole day. It is very scenic place and I would take a lot of brilliant pictures of it, I am sure of that. Camera: Konica Minolta A1 DiMage

1999 Scotland, Mainland of Shetland. Photo of a southern part of that island. The photo was taken with my old Russian SLR camera Zenith ET. After it was scanned I was playing a little with it in Photoshop, trying to get some nice colours. However the film was a little bit scratched and there was some dirt on the print so I decided to give it a bit of old style, BW coloured photo. After that attempts (with some additional scratches and dirt) it looks like a photo from pre or war time. The story of Norwegian resistance supported and supplied by British army via Shetland Islands using the small fishermen trawlers - called Shetland bus, was the first thing that I had on my mind. I have decided to use a name of the Islands I have found somewhere, and that sounds more Germanic (however not German), and I made a photo stylised on spy photo taken by a German spy during the war.

Megalitic stone circle “Stones of Steness”. The stones are part of a larger big megalithic complex of couple of other sites like megalithic portal tomb “Maes Howe”, stone circle “Ring Of Brodgar” and a few cairns and other less impressive archaeological sites. Another photo of the 11th century Romanesque castle built on the frontline between Christian and Muslim word. This time you can see a view from the top yard of the castle to the tower and dome of the private knights’ chapel. As I wrote before, the castle and its vicinity was used as a background in the first and the last scenes of great movie “Kingdom Of Heaven”. Camera: Samsung GX 10
