I have been walking Middle-earth in Orkney these past 6 or 7 years and generally walk on the west side of any standing stones- and there are lots of them! The Kitchener Tower on the cliffs at Marwick is one of my favourite places- but because I think of the White Towers on the downs north and west of the Shire. Interesting to see this link made.
