Pigeons

15th December 2007, Poland, Lodz, pigeons are the same everywhere. They just fly on the circle, always counter-clockwise. I can watch them from my window. This photo is an effect of testing my new lens Sigma 70 - 300 APO DG Macro with my camera: Samsung GX10.

The old house

The Old House, Baluty, Lodz, Poland, camera: Samsung GX 10, lens: Sigma 70 - 300 APO DG, photo: Krystian Kozerawski, www.kozerawski.com

December 16th, 2007, Baluty (the oldes district of Lodz and the Ghetto area), Lodz, Poland. The old wooden house in the oldest part of Lodz. That kind of architecture used to dominate in the half of Baluty district, but after the 2nd WW most of the houses were demolished and new living estates (blocks and towers) were established. In some parts of Lodz and Baluty district you can still find the old wooden houses of the past era. In this house (like in many other old ones) in the Litzmansstadt ghetto, about 65 years ago people were dying of starvation and diseases and those who stayed alive were finally sent to the death camps. This house stands just 300 meters from my place. This is my vicinity.

Photo was taken during testing my new lens (Sigma 70 - 300 APO DG Macro) for my Samsung GX10.

The Watchtower - Pictures of Lodz (testing new lens)

The Watchtower - Pictures of Lodz, Lodz, Poland, The old Jewish district, Baluty, camera: Samsung GX 10, lens: Sigma 70 - 300 APO DG, photo: Krystian Kozerawski, www.kozerawski.com

The Watchtower - the roof and the chimney of the old house in the oldest, the poorest and the most dirty and devasted part of Lodz - Baluty - the place where I live. It used to be a Jewish district of the town and the 2nd biggest (after Warsaw) and the long lasting ghetto in the occupied Europe during 2nd World War. Most of the buildings in the oldest part of the Baluty district haven’t been renovated since the time prior the last world war.
The title of the photo cames from the chimney… The pigeons look like the old warriors on the top of the castle wall and the chimney looks like the watchtower.

The purpose of taking that photo was actually quite simple. Couple of days ago I bought new lens for my Samsung GX10 (Pentax K10). I bought new TELE - Sigma 70 - 300 mm APO DG Macro. I just wanted to test it :)

Outpost

Outpost, Carlow Sugar Factory - Siucra, Carlow, Ireland, camera: Samsung GX10, photo: Krystian Kozerawski, www.kozerawski.com

An outpost in the land of dust. Closed down Carlow Sugar Factory “Siucra”, Carlow, Ireland. The constructions of the factory are very attractive scenery for S-F or cyber punk like photos. The picture needed a little retouch in Photoshop. Camera: Samsung GX10.
