Just a quick photo from our visit to the Safari Zoo park nearby our home city Lodz, Poland. I have always loved donkeys (maybe because a few call me that way), but this kind is my favorite. Poitou Donkeys are the biggest among all donkey breed. They are the rarest among the all donkeys - there is only 400 of them around the world. 3 of them are in our local Safari Park.

The Owl at the top of frontal of the Gdynia cinema in Lodz, Poland. Previously named as Odeon built in 1908 at Tuwima Street (formerly Przejazd Street), the cinema used to be one of the most luxurious cinemas in Lodz. In 1929 the cinema was named Gdynia (after the one of the most modern Polish cities built entirely by the Polish hands from the small village, known also as Gdingen or Gottenhaffen). In 1935 the cinema was renamed to Metro. That name survived till 1945 when the old name - Gdynia - was brought back. In the communist time the cinema lost its splendor and luxury and became the non stop cinema (when the films were played non stop over again). The cinema bankrupted in the middle of nineteen-nineties, when many small cinemas were shot down (due to the massive popularity of VHS). The owl used to have shiny eyes (bulbs) and it was registered in the “Monster Book” - the book of the monsters of Art Novou (secession) architecture. The owl represents whole Poland. Here is the second part of the photos from our last trip to the Lagiewniki Forest (Łagiewniki) in Lodz, just nearby our place. I have mentioned the variety of spieces that inhabit the Lagiewniki forest. May is a time of the mating of the frogs. You can see dozens of them in the pools and lakes. They croak so loud. I has been a long time since I posted the last photo on my photoblog. I was busy and had no time to take many shots. It is going to change I hope. Here is the macro photography of the tree flower - the place of a picnic of the tiny insects. This photo was taken in May 2008, in Lodz, Poland. Camera: Samsung GX 10, Lens: Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO.
